For more than 40 years, the RHoK academy of visual arts has been offering quality painting practice lessons. 

Techniques from the centuries-long tradition of painting are held there against the daylight of a current painting practice. In a communicative and open group atmosphere, well-known genres such as model, still life and landscape are used as subjects for drawings and paintings. Attention is paid to the technical aspects of painting technique and materials. In addition, students have ample opportunity to experiment and explore other media. You start a 4-year process in which we challenge you to develop a personal vision on the two-dimensional plane, a painterly translation of your view of reality.

 We invite you to create your own images, but start with a lot of attention for the rich framework within which painting has developed so far. The two spacious and dynamic studios in Etterbeek and Sint-Pieters Woluwe offer the students an ideal base where the painted image is central in the broadest possible sense.
